Step 1

Open Outlook 2002 or 2003. After it has finished loading completely, click the "Tools" button at the top of the screen, then click "E-mail Accounts..."

A new window will open up.

Click the "Next" button.

Step 3

make sure the "Yes" option is selected.

Then press "Next"

Step 4

Depending on your Server Setup, choose if you will be using POP3 or IMAP Servers.

Then press "Next"

Step 5

Fill in your name and e-mail
address in the appropriate fields.

If your account type is POP3 make sure your "incoming mail server:" is "".

If your account type is IMAP make sure your "incoming mail server:" is ""

For your "Outgoing mail server (SMTP)" use ""

Your "User Name" is going to be your full email adress, then add your password.

Check your info on this screen and make sure all the information is correct.

When you are finished making your changes, click the "More Settings" button.

Step 6

A new window will open up.

Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab.

Step 7

Make sure the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" is checked. Make sure "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is checked. Then click the "Advanced" tab


(Note, if your email repeatedly fails to set up, try checking "Log on using" and filling in your full email as your "E-mail username" and then entering your password.

Your Email username and Password need to be updated when your email changes)

Step 8

Under the "Advanced" tab, If your incoming server setting is POP3, input 110 into "Incoming server." If your server setting is IMAP input 143 into "Incoming server."

For your "Outgoing server (SMTP)" please use 25. If that number doesn't work, then try 2525 instead.

For Verizon Customers, Please use 587.


Optionally, check the "Leave a copy of messages on server" button and choose between the two options below that will work best for you.


Then click the "OK" button.

Step 9

After clicking the "OK" button, you
will return to this screen.

Press the "Test Account Settings" button to test your settings. If your test brings up an error, put the error message into Google to see the specific issue.


In addition, you should double check your username and password for your email.


Also recheck step 8 and try another outgoing server port.


If your test comes back positive
click the "Next" button.

Your e-mail is now set up!
