What I’m Grateful For: My Corneas

Yes, you read that right…. I’m incredibly grateful for how fast the eye can heal. Now, don’t you want to know WHY I’m telling you this strange thing?

Well, as you might have guessed, my eyeball had an interaction with a sharp stick over the weekend, which really wasn’t any fun at all. I was moving some tomato plants into the greenhouse to save them from the frost, then back out again the next day, and a bamboo tomato stake just went right into my eyeball. Thank goodness my eye flinched at the last minute and it hit near my tear duct, or we’d be having a whole ‘nother story about why I’m grateful for emergency rooms and nice nurses.

But lucky for me, the eye heals just incredibly fast, and really isn’t even very painful. So today (5 days later) I just look like I’ve got allergies in one eye, and I feel like … Well, I was going to say dodged a bullet, but I guess it would sound better to say I dodged a sharp stick in the eye – except, of course, I didn’t. Hah!

What I’m Reading: Reading it again, probably the third time or so – The ONE Thing, by Gary Keller. I really should just set up a calendar alert to read this every 6 months or so. It’s easy to read, short and concise, but truly it’s exceptional in the way it helps you identify the next right thing to do, the ONE thing that you should do to move everything forward. If you haven’t read this book, get it and let me know what you think. If you have read it already, maybe think about it as a great Xmas gift for someone on your list.

Web Tip: With the holidays nearing one thing that we can always count on is that scammers will be upping their game during this time. Beware of DNS scammers- these guys will email you saying you domain name needs to be renewed. Beware of “The Google Employee”- They will try to sell you positions on Google searches and…well folks, that’s just not how SEO works. The classic IRS/SS scam: neither department will ever each out to you via phone, they will only send you something in the mail. Don’t EVER give out personal information (Domain Name information included) to unknown parties.
