What I’m Grateful For: Eggs
So if you’ve been reading Words this year, you know we got some chickens this spring. Apart from being great little food composters and a source of endless amusement, they haven’t done much in the way of …. production yet. But finally, TODAY, it happened. Four little eggs, all at once! Mind you, only one was in the nesting boxes – three were just randomly on the floor of the chicken coop. But like all of us learning a new skill, it takes time to figure it out, right? Thank you chickens, I’m going to go make a tiny omelette!
What I’m Reading: I have to be honest, this week I’m mostly reading the news. It’s like a train wreck, you just can’t look away. This weekend I’ll be splitting wood for the winter, which will be a nice break from the news. Hopefully next week will be better days for a good book to dig into. This week…. well, let’s just try not to repeat it, shall we?
Web Tip: Avoid “false bottoms.” Most users have gotten used to the bottom or footer of a webpage to be darker than the rest of the website. If the page is designed with a dark block in the center of the page, especially if it has no content or only contact info, users may leave the site before reaching the end of the page and miss out on useful information.
