The first week of spring – yet at least for us here in the North Cascades, spring really hasn’t “sprung” yet – piles of snow everywhere, freezing overnight. But the birds are coming back, patches of bare, muddy ground are appearing, and you can tell that things are quickening. I love this time of year!
Speaking of quickening, I wanted to share some thoughts with you on marketing. I see a lot of friends and clients get frustrated when trying to market themselves on social media. It’s a hard set of skills to master, especially if you are older than 25 or remember what cassette tapes are…..but I assure you, it can be done, and more than that, it really SHOULD be done.
I’m going to be doing some coaching and tutorials on this in the coming months, which as a Cevado client, you will get free access to. But for today, here’s a few simple things you can do to up your social game a little:
#1 – Don’t be all business. People don’t want to be constantly sold to. It’s more of a conversation or a sharing of thoughts or experiences. A great idea from this week…. perhaps a post about the 1st day of spring, with a pic you took of a flower, for example. Or if you are me, a pic of my snowbank.
#2 – Don’t be political…’Nuff said there. 🙂
#3 – Post consistently and set your goals for this at something attainable. 1-2 times a week to start is okay!
#4 -Make your social media easy to follow. Include direct links to your social profiles on your website, in every marketing email that you send and in email signatures.
