What I’m grateful for: Cooking (and Plated!)

I really enjoy cooking, and even though I’m incredibly busy, I want to be able to create a home-cooked meal for my family every evening. I stumbled on Plated about a year ago, and I have loved it ever since. I get everything for three dinners delivered to my door, and I’ve learned all kinds of new cooking techniques and ideas. But the very best part about it is how it’s turned what could be a stressful thing (trying to figure out what to cook, getting the groceries, etc) into something I look forward to every week!

What I’m reading- Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss, whose background includes being the FBI’s lead international kidnapping negotiator, then becoming an award-winning teacher in the world’s most prestigious business schools. This book has powerful negotiating tactics and techniques, but beyond that,

it’s riveting in the stories and examples you’ll uncover as you read. Be entertained AND learn some priceless skills in this great book.

Tip from Nick- Guess what often goes unnoticed? Clarity of speech! You might not realize it, but if you are not using language at the top of your game, you might be losing out listings and sales! Clear, precise and approachable speech is critical to your success but is often overlooked. Here’s a site that you might find useful, especially if you hear “What was that? I didn’t catch that” more than once a week. https://www.thebalance.com/speak-for-success-lesson-1-enunciation-2948543

Quick Web Tip – Don’t miss out on Social Media Marketing! If you have a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Google+ or LinkedIn Profile make sure you have those displayed on your website so that your clients can check you out on their Social Media and potentially follow you. Make sure your contact info and your hours of operation are accurate as well.

Random thing I’m mulling over – “We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” – Joseph Campbell
